These orders document Governor J. Proctor Knott's use of the governor's power and privilege to issue official announcements of policy. Included are proclamations for days of thanksgiving; a day of mourning for former Governor Beriah Magoffin, who died February 28, 1885; and an observance of Arbor Day on April 2, 1887.
